Marinos Bernitsas founded the firm in 1946 as a broad based civil and commercial law practice. After Panayotis Bernitsas took over as Managing Partner in 1984, Marinos continued to play an integral part in the firm's expansion and development into a market leader. 

Marinos retired in 1988 and is recognised and respected as one of the most eminent general commercial practitioners of his generation.
