Our Telecommunications and Media practice is one of the foremost in Greece and has acted in transactions which have led to groundbreaking changes in the regulatory and legislative structure of this sector. In 1992, we drafted the regulatory regime on the provision of telecommunication services and the statutes of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation (OTE), which were the first bills leading to the liberalisation of the State monopoly in the telecommunications sector. We also advised on the Hellenic Republic on the award of the first cellular GSM licences to private investors and contributed to the study commissioned by the Spanish Union de Televisiones Asociadas on the broadcasting legislation in force in the European Union.
